Planting Seeds of Hope was founded by two friends who want to make a difference. We are dedicated to providing humanitarian support to children and families displaced by conflict in the Middle East, particularly those in refugee camps in Jordan and Egypt. Our mission is to offer hope, education, and essential resources to Syrian and Palestinian refugees, helping them overcome the trauma of war and building a brighter, more peaceful future. Through partnerships with local organizations and volunteers, we aim to provide a safe space for educational programs, healthcare, and basic necessities to empower these children and foster resiliency in the face of adversity.

Direct Impact
100% of your contributions go directly toward supporting refugees, as we personally cover all travel and accommodation expenses for our team.
Transparent Efforts
Unlike larger organizations with operational costs, your donations are used to provide immediate assistance and fund impactful programs.
Inclusive Community
We welcome everyone to contribute—whether through monetary donations, clothing drives, or volunteering your time. Together, we can create meaningful change.goes here -
Visit Refugee Camps:
We will visit camps in Jordan and Egypt to deliver donations and provide hands-on support to displaced families and children.
Collect and Distribute Donations:
Your donations—including clothing, sanitary items, first aid supplies, and funds—will be distributed to families in need. In Jordan, we will also create food baskets that can be sent directly to Gaza when possible.
Implement Educational Programs:
We will lead programs focused on English, Math, and mental health to support the development and well-being of refugee children.
Facilitate Healthcare and Livelihood Support:
In collaboration with Human Concern International and UOSSM Jordan, we will help provide:
Healthcare treatment for children.
Stipends for families to cover living expenses.
Food and supplies distribution to families in Gaza and refugee camps.
Your support not only allows us to deliver resources but also enables us to strengthen these vital programs, ensuring sustainable and impactful outcomes for displaced families.
-
Your support is vital to the success of our mission. Planting Seeds of Hope focuses on collecting donations of clothing, sanitary supplies, first-aid kits, and other essentials to directly aid children and families in refugee camps.
We are also raising funds to cover the costs of transporting these items to Egypt and Jordan. During our visit, we will conduct educational programs focused on English language development and mental health wellness. By contributing, whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word, you are helping us bring hope and essential resources to those who need them most.
Our Work
Egypt
In late December 2024, we arrived in Egypt with 21 checked-in bags—over 450 kilograms of baby, children, and adult clothing—ready to distribute to families displaced by the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Our mission was grounded in dignity, direct aid, and meaningful connection.
Partnering for Impact
With the invaluable support of the Hayat Yolu Association and the Cairo-based cafe venue قعدة مزيكا, we identified families in urgent need and transformed the cafe into a safe and welcoming distribution hub. Volunteers helped us prepare the space, sort items by age and gender, translate conversations, and distribute aid in a respectful, organized way.
Day 1: First Distribution
Our first distribution day went smoothly. Families were invited in staggered time slots to avoid crowds and ensure safety. In addition to clothing and hygiene items, we handed out envelopes of cash aid—each amount tailored to a family’s size and severity of need.

The Cargo Challenge
What we hadn’t expected was the bureaucratic nightmare that followed. We spent three grueling 8-hour days trying to retrieve 16 additional luggage-sized bags sent by cargo from Canada. Despite endless roadblocks, we ultimately secured 13 of the 16 bags. The remaining 3 were lost to red tape, but we covered the value of those bags out-of-pocket—because our commitment didn’t end at customs.
Direct Family Visits
Amid these efforts, we also visited several families in their homes. These intimate moments gave us a deeper understanding of their stories—of separation, injury, loss of livelihood, and children working to support their families. These stories are heartbreaking, but essential to hear. (You can read them in full in our “Their Stories” section.)
Day 2: Continued Giving
A few days later, we returned for our second distribution. With the retrieved cargo, we were able to distribute the remaining clothing and cash. Some items even made it across the border to families still inside Gaza.
In total, we distributed:
Over 800 kg of clothing and essential items
Support to over 155 families and over 810 people
The financial aid went directly to cover food, rent, electricity, medical needs, and education.
Jordan
Following our time in Egypt, we traveled to Jordan—arriving in Amman with 6 checked-in bags filled with clothing for Syrian and Palestinian refugees and displaced families. We also arranged additional aid via air cargo from Canada and planned another round of cash distributions to support families’ essential needs.
Partners in the Field
Our work in Jordan was made possible by the tireless team at UOSSM Jordan, led by brother Omar. We were introduced through Sister Yasmeen, whose dedication and efforts helped us connect with an incredible network of on-the-ground support. From the outset, it was clear how committed UOSSM was—not just to providing direct aid, but also to long-term health and mental health support, medication access, and critical treatment pathways.
We also had the privilege of connecting with several organizations and volunteers from across the globe, including:
Zedni Karam
Each one brought a spirit of generosity, purpose, and unity that helped make this effort even more powerful.
Random Camp, Madaba
We spent a day at Random Camp in Madaba, home to a large Syrian refugee population. Many of the children we met have lived their entire lives within the confines of the camp. Our goal that day was simple: create joy.
With bags full of clothing and toys, we set up a play afternoon that brought huge smiles and laughter to the children—reminding us, and hopefully them, that all children deserve moments of happiness and connection.Al Haddadah: Art and Expression
Next, we joined United Palestine Appeal (UPA) in Al Haddadah for an art therapy session with children. With bright paints and eager hands, the kids expressed themselves through finger painting—each masterpiece a powerful symbol of resilience and imagination.
We brought goodie bags filled with toys, and the children’s pride in their art was a moment we won’t soon forget.Zedni Karam Distribution
Thanks to our partnership with Zedni Karam, we hosted a distribution day that mirrored our work in Egypt. Families were welcomed in a structured way, and received age-appropriate clothing as well as envelopes of cash—each tailored to their size and need.

In Jordan, we were able to distribute
Over 450kg of clothing and essential items
Support to 225 families and over 1300 people
